First Time Traveling to India

Traveling to India was a unique adventure.  There are no painted lanes on the roads and cars would weave in and out at high speeds.  You don’t just see cars, trucks and motorcycles.  There were tuk tuks, bicycles, motor bikes, scooters, you name it and lots of them.   The picture here does not capture how busy the roads can be and the horns were used differently than in the US.  Americans often honk out of frustration.  With the chaos of traffic in India, you hear constant honking used as a warning of someone approaching.

They also use these means of transportation no matter how small to transfer anything from appliances, to furniture to materials.  The streets are like a community with some selling products or produce on the side of the road and others hanging out in the median with their neighbors.  There is often someone casually walking across the street in the middle of traffic.  There are no limits here and it is fascinating.  At the end of our trip we were fortunate to get the opportunity to visit the Taj Falaknuma Palace where we were escorted by horse and carriage.
