When Mother Nature Reschedules Your Event

Just like that, our five-day conference with 1200 attendees concludes.  It is always bittersweet, but especially this one.  Imagine planning an event and all the moving pieces and then having to make the decision to re-schedule 36 hours prior to the kickoff.  The penalties and loss you would have to consider.  Weighing the pros and cons.  Finding a new date and ensuring all vendors are available.

This event was originally planned to occur in February in Bellevue, WA; however, that weekend prior the city got hit with a snowstorm.  If you have ever lived near Seattle, you know snowstorms are not common for the area.  Sure the mountains get snow, but with the surrounding waters on the inner city it results to road closures and everyone staying home.  To ensure local participants would be able to attend we made the tough decision to shift the event to May.

….P.S. don’t you just love the vibrant branding!
